Golden Goose Deluxe Brand is something I’ve always admired. They were established in the year 2000 after bringing together the talents of Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. Through the years, they have become a huge designer brand with retail locations all over the world, and it’s one that many fashion lovers are drawn to.
I’ve followed Golden Goose for ages and I would often check out the collection on FarFetch, as they always had an curated selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always found them a bit pricey and looked too similar to Converse, so they were always on my mental wishlist. A few years earlier, Adam was the one who was the early fan and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. After checking out his pair and realizing the uniqueness of each pair because they’re handmade in Italy, I was more intrigued. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are intentionally aged and made to appear vintage, they are all hand done so there’s no two pairs alike. Some have stronger distressing than others, so each pair is unpredictable.
If you’re buying at a store, it might be a good idea to ask to see a few of the same shoe and select from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to hope you get a good pair!The pair of sneakers that I liked from the beginning are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been in rotation a long time, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I actually ended up getting the metallic version off Shopbop, and they’re a pair I have worn on and off over the years (see here and my Golden Goose review women’s golden goose shoes here). I absolutely love them! I bought another pair in the same model and customized them with new laces + colored accents, so they’re really fun! I also own a pair of velvet burgundy Golden Goose, and two pairs of taller silhouettes! I do definitely want a black pair now, but I have a pair of Converse in black canvas, so I’m not sure I should get both, even though they’re different.
